We searched long and hard before we found a soft and huggable barn owl puppet that also meets puppeteer standards for quality and performance. Our white-chested McGee is full of personality. He blinks, winks, waves, flaps his wings and even cuddles.
MAKE A MOLLY CONTEST
While we could not find a female “Molly” barn owl, we were told by the manufacturer that this acrylic “McGee” puppet can be decorated with inks and dyes. We tested the theory and had so much fun making a “Molly” that we decided to do a “Make A Molly Contest.” Just decorate your Molly and send us an electronic photo with an explanation of what you used (we used paint brushes and RIT dyes in tan, chocolate brown, and black). During the first week of December, we’ll judge a winner who will go home with a complimentary Molly & McGee coffee table book; runners-up will receive a Molly The Owl hardcover book. We’ll post the winning photos on the website in the Education Section. You can enter as an individual or a classroom. If your classroom wins, every student in the class will receive a Magic Feather Bookmark as well. (Note: buy two puppets, and you’ll have a Molly & McGee pair!)
